What are some better investments to generate a monthly cash flow via investing 2.5 CR
Main Post:
My Father has around 2.5 CR liquid and is looking for options to generate steadily growing monthly income of around Rs 1.5-2L , investing into stocks and monitoring it isn't his cup of tea , bank FD has a fixed interest rate so not a promising option I am thinking of making him purchase some commercial properties for rental income . What are the best options?
Top Comment: An income of 2 lakh per month translates to 24 lakhs per annum on an investment of 2.5 Cr. This amounts to 9.6% returns. You have to understand this before investing anywhere. Even if one buys commercial real estate, I doubt this much return would be generated from the properties unless they are bought in a very lucrative location. There are not many investment options which could generate a return of 9.6% post tax. Equity mutual funds could do that however, its important to invest the money into relevant mutual funds. You need not monitor your mutual fund investments regularly as you wud not be continuously investing in them. Your investment would be a lumpsum while you wud eventually redeem your income every month. Although, I could suggest some mutual funds to invest in, however, 2.5 Cr is a sizeable amount to be discussed with redditors. You should consult a financial advisor for the same. Good luck.
Roadmap in investing for an 21 yr Indian
Main Post:
Hello, fellow Redditors! 🌍
I am from India and am looking to dive into the world of investments and stock marketing, but I am overwhelmed by the options out there.
Could you please guide me on which apps are better for beginners and which bank services are recommended for investment purposes?
I am starting from scratch and want to avoid misinformation on YouTube. If you've had positive experiences or can share any valuable resources, please help a novice out.
Please don't stop with short answers. Please feel free to elaborate your takes on market, vendor, and about mediators.
Top Comment: Step 1- Get term and Health Insurance Step 2 - Create Emergency fund (watch YouTube for better understanding) Step 3 - clear up any debts/loans possible Step 4 - Start investing via SIP in a nifty 50 index fund. Always look for ways to upskill yourself, you need to make the biggest investment on yourself. Because that will give you the biggest 'returns'. Also as you continue your investment journey, you will learn on your own where else you can invest,to start off and continue for 2-3 years nifty 50 index fund in enough. Good luck to you.
An NRIs Hope : Any long term Indian investment ideas to help us save up something?
Main Post:
It's not always bed of roses for us NRIs especially being in the Middle east. Now with the rate cuts happening to PPF and also a known policy that's on pause now relating to (Resident to) NRIs can't handle PPF - do you guys have better ideas to safely deposit for a long term and expect credible returns?
Do share your thoughts :) Thanks!

SIP in Mutual funds. Invest in good quality funds and for long term 7-10 years+. It beats any other type of investment hands down.
What is your opinion on foreign investments in India?
Main Post:
Hey guys.
Im a european trying to place some investments while saving up to buy a house. I have placed most of my money in so called emerging markets funds, but I was wondering if i should place in a fund specific for India. These emerging market funds have some investments in India, but mostly in China, Taiwan and South Korea.
I have always had a special interest for India so I think it would be a bit of fun having investments there, and I also consider India to have an amazing potential. India in my opinion is more "emerging" than Taiwan and Korea in the sense that it is still underdeveloped right now. But I might be way off here, and would really like you guys`s opinions. Do you think Indian stocks will have a better trajectory than other emerging markets in the next years?
Also, I was wondering in general what you guys think about foreigners placing investments in India. Do you consider this to be bad in any way, or is it welcomed with open arms?
